A Toronto woman who allegedly yelled “Allahu Akbar!” before attacking store employees with a golf club Saturday declared a “pledge” to the leader of the Islamic State during her courtroom appearance Tuesday, the Toronto Sun reported.

Justice of the Peace Alice Napier asked Rehab Dughmosh, 32, to identify herself, but the paper said she didn’t initially reply.

Decked out in a black niqab — the Islamic head covering with an opening for the eyes — Dughmosh then blurted out through an interpreter, “ISIS — I pledge to the leader of the believers — Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,” referring to the leader of the Islamic State, the Sun said.

The niqab has been a source of controversy in Canada. Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2015 said the head covering is “rooted in a culture that is anti-women” and shouldn’t be allowed during citizenship ceremonies. After far-left Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took office, he dropped the challenge against the niqab.

Sources told the paper a woman wearing an ISIS bandana allegedly entered a Canadian Tire store Saturday — at the same time as the London Bridge terrorist attacks — yelled “Allahu Akbar!” and then began swinging a  golf club at employees and screaming threats and Islamic chants.

After she was restrained by several employees, police told the Sun she pulled out a large knife from under her clothing. But an employee managed to pry it from her hands, the paper said, adding that the employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the process.

Dughmosh is facing seven charges, the Sun reported, including two counts of assault with a weapon, assault, two counts of possession of a weapon, threatening death or bodily harm and carrying a concealed weapon.

She agreed to “stay in jail” rather than have a bail hearing, the paper said. She’s scheduled to appear in court via video on June 21.
